I'm sorry I don't have what you're looking for but....

I posted a message to you on 9/5 under the main board (TKL Cooking Club) where you had posted a recipe for Iowa Chocolate Cake. I'm dying to make that cake but wanted to know if the recipe should include baking soda and/or baking powder. And if so, how much and would these be sifted with the other dry ingredients? (I was assuming that you were using all-purpose flour.)

Here's the recipe you gave for the smaller cake quantity:

3/4 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups boiling water
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cocoa
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla

Thanks for your help.

Janet
