Hi Sandy! Well..the Marshmallow Creme is used in all fudges I have ever made...I believe that it adds to the texture as well as the flavor of the fudge...making it fudgy and causes it to set properly...If you were to just blend chips with evaporated milk and chill I would think you would end up with hard candy...Any fudge experts out there to help me out here?? LOL
