When I started to make this recipe, I realized that there didn't seem to be nearly enough liquid called for. I quickly grabbed another cookbook and concluded that what I probably need to do was add 1 1/2 C. buttermilk as the very first ingredient. (Actually I used water and Saco buttermilk powder). With this addition, this was indeed a most delicious bread.
