I have a recipe that I have used for Creamsicle Cake, where you make frosting out of orange jello and some other ingredients. I would think that it would work to make the frosting with strawberry jello, but I can't vouch for it since I haven't tried using that flavor. Anyway, the frosting is made by taking one small box of jello, one box vanilla instant pudding, one cup of milk, and one tsp vanilla. You mix these ingredients together and then you add 8 ounces of cool whip, frost the cake, and refrigerate the cake to set the frosting. It might work for you.
