The pastry layers sound like a stawberry recipe I make. It uses about 10
layers of phyllo pastry. Brush each sheet lightly with butter or margarine and
sprinkle with granulated sugar. Keep adding layers until about as thick as you
think each one should be. Slice them to the correct size for the dessert that
you tried. Then bake. I slice in 3rds and layer with fresh strawberries and
whipped cream. I don't know about the custard. I hope this helps.
