This is a refrigerator type cookie.

Black Walnut Cookies

1 cup of butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1 c. black walnuts

Cream brown sugar and butter. Mix in remaining dry ingredients except walnuts.
Add walnuts last. Roll into logs about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Seal tightly
and allow to chill in refrigerator.

Slice and bake at 350 degrees until done.(Cookies will lose gloss and be
slightly brown around the edges)

My Grandmother also made a chocolate drop cookie that was frosted that we always
put black walnuts in. She kept them in the freezer and we always ate them
frozen. We liked them better that way, especially in the summer.
