I don't have a recipe for you, just the right name! We ate it in New York, also. Anyway, I think if you search for "kuchen" there's bound to be something on here! My mother used to mkae apple and peach kuchen. All she did was use peach pie filling or apple pie filling and put it in a pan. She used to make the topping out of bisquick. I think she sprinkled sugar on top and then baked it. There might be a sweet dough or crust recipe on the bisquick box.
