COUNTRY NUT BREAD
3 c. all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. butter or margarine 1 1/2 c. sugar 4 eggs 3/4 c. milk 1 tsp. orange extract 1 tsp. almond extract 1 tsp. orange rind 1 c. finely chopped pecans 1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts 1/4 c. slivered almonds 1/2 c. coconut (optional)
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each. Add flour and milk alternately to butter mixture and beat until well combined and smooth. Add flavorings and orange rind; mix well. Fold in nuts and coco- nut. Pour into lightly floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 375 degrees for about 50 minutes. Cool before removing from pan.
