As promised, here is the recipe of that dried shrimp cookies. It's an east-meets-west creation. Dried shrimp should be easily obtained in most Asisan grocers. I tripled the amount as the recipes makes quite a small amount.
=====================
Dried Shrimp Cookies

200g lightly salted butter, softened
80g icing sugar
50g dried shrimp, ground to semi-fine texture
(You should be able to see some streak of shrimp but not too big chunks.)
1 c. corn flakes, grond FINELY
1/2 t. baking powder
250g all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten, to glaze
Optional: extra dried shrimp to decorate the top

Preheat the oven to 170C/325F?)
Mix all dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add in the dry ingredients to form a dough.
Roll out 1 cm thick and cut with a cookie cutter of your choice. (I used a half moon shape as it looks a bit like the shrimp...)
Place the cookies on a greased cookie sheet. These cookies do not spread so you can put them quite close to each other when baking.
bruch each cookie top with some egg.
bake for about 10-12 minutes.
