I found this recipe on the internet. It sounds like the cake you are looking for. Perhaps, you can substitute a chocolate cake for the base.
German Chocolate Cheesecake From Lisa
1 German Chocolate Cake Mix Two 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened 4 eggs 1-1/2 cups sugar 1 container German Chocolate Frosting
Preheat oven to 275 Degrees F. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 pan. Mix cake mix according to the directions on the box. Pour half of the cake batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake 7-15 minutes until mix is set a bit. (Use other half of batter to make some cupcakes, etc.) In a separate bowl, blend together the cream cheese, eggs and sugar until smooth and creamy. Spoon over cooled cake.
Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes at 275 until set.
Let cool. Put frosting on top. Refrigerate.
