I have NEVER tempted to make these myself as we always get a good quality supply from a dear family friend during Malay or Chinese New Year. This cookie/biscuit is ONLY available in Malaysia/Singapore and normally only during the festive season (if you are talking about homemade version.) It's a regional Malay creation, which Chinese have adapted to. Chinese from the mainland or other places don't make this delight at all if not mistaken. It’s a very troublesome recipe but you could try to tackle it if you have patience. I was told that you must fry the flour till the kitchen is masked with it to have a great result. (Have no idea whether or not it's for real!) Anyway, I will only be able to get the recipe for you this coming Saturday when I go back, if you don’t mind the long wait.

cheers,
