I jsut realized that your post was somewhat differnt from what i read in the book. about the method of preparing the condensed milk, i did what the book suggseted "puncture a small hole into the top of each condensed milk can. Set them in a saucepan large enough to immerse them in water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 2 hours, with the pan partially covered, adding more water as necessary. Remove the cans and cool."

Did you ever try the recipe in the end? did you use ONE can or TWO cans? I thought it may be too sweet using two cans but since i used bitter chocolate and no sugar is added in other parts, i decided to use two cans instead. and it turned out still a bit sweet (for me only) but very delicious indeed. Anyway, just want to let you know that i have tried the recipe and it was great. thanks
