I always under bake my cinnamon rolls & never let them cool in the sheets that they are baked on.I remove them from the baking sheets to a cooling rack after 1 minute. As soon as they have cooled I store them in my pastry box kind of like the ones in the pastry stores, never airtight containers as they get way to soft. Anyway here is an easy, delicious cinnamon roll recipe that we never have problems with.
Cinnamon Rolls:
1 egg 1/4 c.sugar(raw or granulated) 2 Tbls. vegetable oil 2 tsp.salt 2 c.hot water 1 pkg.yeast(soften in 1/4 c.lukewarm water) 6 c.all purpose flour
Mix all ingredients.Let rise to double(In same bowl the dough is mixed in.No need to knead dough or to grease the bowl).Roll out dough(will be sticky) on floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.
Spread on 1 stick soft butter(real butter),sprinkle with filling(1/4 c.white sugar,3/4 c.brown sugar & 1 1/2 tsp.cinnamon ).
Roll up & cut 1 inch thick slices.Put sliced rolls on lightly greased sheet pans.Let rise.Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes or just till slightly browned.
