Crisp Drop Sugar Cookies
2 1/2 cups sifted flour 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup real butter, (not margarine) softened 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs, well beaten
Cream butter, add sugar & blend well. Add eggs & vanilla, blend well. Sift dry ingredients together & add to butter mixture, mix to combine. Put in bowl with lid, refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Form into balls a little smaller than walnut size, roll in white sugar, place on greased cookie sheet, slightly apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Leave on cookie sheet for 30 seconds, then immediately remove to cooling rack.
