You can use regular flour - but you have to add GLUTEN. Buy a box of GLUTEN in the grocery store and use one tablespoon per batch. Bread flour can be expensive, if you use your bread machine a lot (like I do!). Sam's Club has a good deal on a huge bag of bread flour - I think it is a 25 pound bag for under $5.
