Australian cornmeal is usually fine ground which would, I'm told, equate to US corn flour - as Susan, Hawaii said.

Australian cornflour is US cornstarch.

The plain sponge recipe calls for 1/2 cup cornstarch for the 1/2 cup cocoa powder.
