I am baking cookies for a fund raising effort and I want to use a fool-proof recipe I have relied upon in the past... only it wasn't foolproof enough to keep me from losing the recipe!!!
I don't know what the cookies were called in the original recipe. They are apricot cookie bars with the usual butter-flour-sugar-etc crust layer made with a little coconut, nuts, and chopped dates added. Some of the dough for the crust is reserved to dollop on top, after baking the crust and spreading it with apricot or blackberry preserves.
I think it was originally published in a magazine and the magazine mistakenly said to bake it in a small square pan instead of in a 13x9x2.
I would be overjoyed to be reunited with this particular recipe. Donna
