I keep telling myself that I will try making these but the weather warms up and I run from the kitchen. The recipe is from The Fanny Farmer Baking Book.
2 eggs 2 tablespoons soy flour 2 tablespoons wheat germ 2 cups whole wheat flour 2 tablespoons instant nonfat dry milk 1/2 teaspoon salt 4 tablespoons water
Preheat oven to 350 F. Use ungreased cookie sheets.
Break the eggs into a large bowl and stir until blended. Add the soy flour, wheat germ, dry milk, salt, and water, and stir until smooth. Add the flour and mix into the egg mixture, you can do this with a spoon, but your hands work better. the dough will be stiff and dry, on a working surface, pat dough to half inch thickness. cut into bones.
Place one inch apart on cookie sheet. bake for 25 minutes on one sice and turn over and bake 25 minutes on the toher side. cool on racks.
