I use boxed cake mixes & Wilton icing with egg whites. Adjust cake size to crowd.

I used sugar cubes on the front & on 2nd level for stone effect. I used white icing with Barbie-pink.
6 sugarcones I dipped in Barbie-pink Wilton candy melts 2-3 times till well coated and smooth or mark with fork tines to give a stone-looking surface.

Toothpicks with appropriate colored triangle-shaped flags glued on them go into the pointy end of cone.

2 medium or 1 thick layer of 9x12 cake for bottom of cake and 2 medium or 1 very thick layer 9x9 on top could even put a 5x5 cake on top of that but I did not.

I used the pink covered cones w/flags as the round buildings around the castle and the white sugar cubes in front and then stacked them with icing to make 2 double front doors on 9x12 section.

On the 9x9 section all around the sides I alternated w/ cubes, equal spacing the cubes, again to give the stone effect. I even put a Polly and her Prince beside for the Barbie Cinderella effect. So many oohs and ahhs.
