Hi Robyn,

I, too, read the article on yeast and I don't think it answers your question completely.

As listed in messages, "active dry yeast" is the same as "dry yeast," "regular yeast," or just "package of yeast." Those names differentiate it from fresh yeast (which comes refrigerated in blocks) or "bread machine yeast" which has smaller granules and is formulated to dissolve faster.

The Fleishmann's Active Dry Yeast is just fine. You don't need to dissolve it first before adding it to your bread machine recipes.
