Brownies with Peanut Butter Topping and Chocolate Glaze rec.food.cooking/HH Struve/1996
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate 3/4 cup margarine or butter 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup flour 1/2 to 1/3 cup moderately chopped peanuts (like for ice cream topping, if that helps)
TOPPING: 1 cup smooth peanut butter 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla
GLAZE: 1/4 cup margarine or butter 4 oz. semisweet chocolate
Melt unsweetened chocolate and 3/4 cup butter together. Stir in by hand sugar, eggs, vanilla; then flour and nuts. Put in greased 9x13-inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min. Don't overbake. Cool.
For Topping: Mix peanut butter, powdered sugar and vanilla till smooth. Spread on cooled brownies.
For Glaze: Melt semisweet chocolate and butter together, cool slightly and spread carefully over peanut butter layer. Cool - may be necessary to chill briefly to set glaze - and cut.
Hi Kate,
This probably isn't the same recipe you saw in the magazine but if you'd like to give us some details maybe we can come close.
Happy Baking,
Betsy
