Naty, Like you, I have been searching for a great yellow cake scratch recipe. My one big success in home ec in 7th grade was a yellow cake - the class was right at the end of the day, we took the un-frosted layers home with us after class. My friends and I ate my layer on the bus, still warm from the oven. I've never had cake that good before or since. Come to think of it, I've never eaten cake straight from the oven before or since! That probably has something to do with it! But I've been searching from that time to this for a great yellow cake recipe. So many of them end up tasting vaguely like pancakes.
