I've done this using cans for the round shape. After baking the cake, I put it on a sheet of cake, icing under the sheet in gray, and putting the tank on top. The wheels,(cookies) were attached to the sheet cake. The size can you use depends on the size of the cake. Make sure the cans are cleaned throughly and sprayed heavily with Pam.
