The "cookie" you are describing actually sounds like a Praline and, yes, they are to die for...in fact they will probably kill you, the ingredients are so rich! There are a million recipes for Pralines and they are in just about any good cookbook, and probably some on this site. Try a batch and see if it is what you are looking for...they are not hard to do at all, but keep them in a tightly sealed tin when you make them (that's if they don't get eaten first!).
