Van de Kamp's bakery (which is gone forever) made a date bread that was used in my family at holiday time. I remember the bread as being dark in color and rather sticky. We made little sandwiches with cream cheese/crushed pineapple filling which were delicious. I have tried date bread mix and a couple of recipes, but they are not the same. Can anyone help?
