Traditional Apple Cake Serves 6-8
3/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup softened butter 1/3 cup milk 1 egg, beaten 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp nutmeg 2 cups peeled, cored and diced Golden Delicous apples (about 2 medium apples) 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350F. Baking spray an 8x8-inch baking pan.
Cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the milk, egg, and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg, stirring to form a very loose mixture. Fold in the chopped apples and walnuts. Spread mixture in the prepared pan.
Bake for 40 minutes or until firm to the touch and lightly browned.
