Ok so I haven't forgotten my wonderful helpers...this is the first chance I've had to make a test cake. I haven't even tasted the cake yet, but my first attempt to put fondant on the one 8 inch cake is (to me) a disappointment. The cake looks so uneven now with the fondant on- it didn't look bad before. Maybe I should have smoothed out the cream cheese frosting underneath better? I honestly thought that the fondant would cover any imperfections in the cake because it always looks that way when I've seen it done. I'm considering throwing in the towel because I would not want my wedding cake looking like this and I don't know how to fix it! I still have a 9 inch cake made and frosted waiting for fondant in the fridge. That was the cake I was going to give tothe couple so if you could give me advice maybe this one won't be a bust.
