HOMEMADE FLOUR TORTILLAS

about 4 cups flour
2 to 3 tsp. salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup oil
warm water

Mix flour, salt, and baking powder; add oil. Stir in warm water in small amounts until you can work with the dough. If you get it too sticky just add some flour.

Grab the dough and squeeze up and make into 1 1/2 inch balls. As you go, pat the balls down like you would a hamburger patty.

ROLLING THE TORTILLAS:
When you roll out the tortillas put flour on the counter and rolling pin and the dough won't stick as much. Roll top to bottom and rotate the tortilla as you go.

Cook on a hot griddle flipping only once. You will be able to tell when the tortilla needs flipped by the bubbles.

CALLES A GORNILLO:
If you want to try something my grandma Calles a Gornillo you just deep fry the tortillas. After you roll out the tortilla cut it into fourths and deep fry. They will puff up and hollow in the middle. My family usually puts beans or a mixture of honey and butter in them.

DELICIOUS.
