RICK: Good morning. I am going to post a simple beer bread recipe for your consideration. I can alert you to this solution. You can start a "SOURDOUGH CHEF". It must be maintained periodically such as every 3 or 7 days. Not difficult just a pain in the butt at times. The yeast that is formed is natural from the air, no made made yeast involved. No dairy products either just water, & as an option olive-oil & honey if you wish. If your interested we have a few members that are knowledgeable on these natural soughdough starters & will help you. Also Betsy has much information & recipes for you as well on this subject ( click here for sourdough recipes). BEER BREAD3 cups all-purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 2 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 (12-ounce) can beer 1 Tbsp honey Preheat ovent o 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Mix dry ingredients very well. Mix beer and honey; mix into dry ingredients. Place dough into prepared pan. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes. Then turn pan around to insure even baking. Total baking time approx 40/45 minutes. Quickly invert pan to dump loaf out and place on a cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour. I hope this information will help you my friend. Good luck & have a nice day. ~Chef Dunask.
