WALDORF ASTORIA CAKE ICING
(all Crisco)

1 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup Crisco
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together milk, flour, and salt. Cook until thick. Cool thoroughly.

Cream sugar and Crisco well. Add cooled mixture and beat well. Add vanilla.


WALDORF ASTORIA CAKE ICING
(1/2 cup each Crisco and margarine)

1 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
pinch of salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix milk and flour together in pan. Cook this over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick. Add pinch of salt and cool.

Beat sugar, Crisco, and margarine together at high speed until fluffy:

Add milk mixture to it and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat at high speed until fluffy.


WALDORF ASTORIA CAKE FROSTING
(using confectioner's sugar)

1 cup milk
2 tbsp. flour
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
1/2 cup Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk with flour until thick; cool.

Cream sugar, butter, shortening and vanilla with mixture for 10 minutes (until light and fluffy). Blend in cool flour and milk mixture.


WALDORF ASTORIA CAKE FROSTING
(3/4 cup Crisco and 1/2 cup butter)

1 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup Crisco
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk, flour and salt over medium heat until thick. Cover and let cool until cold.

Beat Crisco, butter and sugar until fluffy. Pour cold paste into sugar mixture and beat. Add vanilla.


WALDORF ASTORIA CAKE FROSTING
(using corn starch)

2 cups milk
4 tbsp. corn starch
1 cup Crisco
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract

Heat milk, then thicken with corn starch; let cool.

Cream Crisco, margarine, and sugar. Add vanilla and almond. Then mix all together. Beat exactly 7 minutes.


WALDORF ASTORIA CAKE FROSTING
(1/2 cup each Crisco and butter and with coconut)

1 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
1 can coconut

Cook milk and flour together to pudding stage and set aside to cool.

Cream butter and Crisco. Add sugar and cream well.

Add cooled mixture and beat until fluffy. Will look like whipped cream. Add coconut.

Maybe one of these will be it Dianna!
