I recently saw a recipe for Oreo Truffles and there was a question asking whether you could use peanut butter sandwich cookies to make them instead of Oreo cookies. I have made both and they are equally delicious!

In fact I substituted the Oreo cookies with store brand and they were just as delicious!

Here is the recipe:

OREO TRUFFLES

1 pkg. chocolate sandwich cookies, ground to a fine powder (a food processor works the best)
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1 (12 oz) pkg Ghirardelli chocolate chips (use whatever flavor you like...bittersweet works well)
1 (12 oz) pkg Ghirardelli white chocolate chips

Mix the cookie powder and cream cheese together (by hand or with a mixer). Roll into small balls and place on wax paper lined cookie sheet. Refrigerate at least 45 minutes.

Melt chocolate in separate bowls and dip balls to coat thoroughly, half in chocolate and half in white. Place on wax paper lined cookie sheet and drizzle with leftover chocolate. Store in refrigerator to set chocolate and keep any leftover truffles in the refrigerator.
