WHOLE WHEAT SPOON BREAD Makes 4 loaves
3 pkgs. yeast 3/4 cup warm water 1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp. honey, divided use 10 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup wheat germ 1/2 cup soy milk powder 1 tbsp. salt 3 cups warm water 1/2 cup warm oil 1/2 cup molasses
Mix together yeast, warm water, and 1 tablespoon of the honey; set aside until it rises.
Grease 4 loaf pans.
Sift together flour, wheat germ, soy milk powder, and salt into a large bowl; set aside.
After yeast rises, stir together with the warm water, molasses, and warm oil. Stir into dry ingredients and mix all together well. Spoon into prepared pans. Let rise 40 minutes or until double in bulk.
Bake for 15 minutes at 425 degrees or for 25 minutes at 375 degrees.

I'm not sure if this is the recipe you ladies are looking for. Judy, this fits your description but I don't know what the original source is so maybe you can tell us if this is the Kretchmer Wheat Germ recipe. I haven't tried this recipe so to make a full batch would be a leap of faith.
