CHERRY CORDIAL CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE FROSTING
FOR THE CAKE: 1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine, melted 1 can cherry pie filling 1 pkg. butter fudge cake mix (Duncan Hines) 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. almond flavoring FOR THE FROSTING: 1 cup sugar 5 tbsp. margarine 1/2 cup milk 6 oz. (1 cup) chocolate chips 1 tsp. almond flavoring
TO PREPARE THE CAKE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 13x9-inch baking pan.
Combine the cake ingredients together and stir by hand. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool cake in pan on rack.
Spread frosting on cooled cake.
TO PREPARE THE FROSTING: Combine sugar, margarine, and milk in saucepan. Boil two minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; add chocolate chips and almond flavoring. Beat until smooth and cool before spreading on the cake.
