BANANA BLONDIES WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND WALNUTS

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about two large bananas)
1 (6 oz) pkg semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnut (or pecans)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

In a large bowl, using electric mixer, beat butter and granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Add egg and bananas, beating well. Add flour mixture and beat just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts. Spread batter in prepared pan.

Bake in preheated, 350-degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until light golden brown and starting to pull away from sides of pan. The center still will be slightly soft to the touch.

Let cool completely in pan on rack. Cut into bars.
