SINFUL CHOCOLATE CAKE
FOR THE CAKE: 1 (18 1/2 oz) package chocolate cake mix 1 cup water 1 small package instant chocolate pudding 1/2 cup oil 4 eggs FOR THE BUTTER SYRUP: 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup water FOR THE CHOCOLATE GLAZE (OPTIONAL): powdered sugar unsweetened cocoa powder milk (as needed)
TO MAKE THE CAKE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
Mix above five ingredients together and pour into prepared Bundt pan.
Bake for 45 to 60 minutes.
TO MAKE THE BUTTER SYRUP: Bring butter, sugar, and 3/4 cup water to a boil over medium heat.
Pour over the warm cake while cake is still in the pan. Let the mixture soak well into the cake. Turn cake out onto plate and cover immediately so that cake will "steam."
TO MAKE THE CHOCOALTE GLAZE: Mix together to right consistency some confectioner's sugar, cocoa powder and a very small amount of milk. Drizzle over the cake.
