Dear Elly - If you put in a search here for Classic British Cream Scones, back in 2000, Eggy posted a recipe for these, and having had London Cream Scones IN London back a few years, these scones are delicious. So much different from our dry and mostly tasteless scones here in this country. After having had these, I've always wanted a recipe that duplicated those and this sounds like it. She even talks about the clotted Devonshire cream that I remember being served with these scones - they were served warm with fresh raspberry preserves and clotted cream - "to die for!"

I had them in a little side street tea shop mid-afternoon one day in London and it was a little bit of heaven to be served high tea in London with linen napkins and beautiful little china tea service set.

Try them and let us know. If you put in a search for London Cream Scones a bunch of other scone recipes pop up, too.

Love, June
