MOTHER KUEMPEL'S PINEAPPLE PIE

4 eggs, separated
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp butter, softened
1 (15 1/2 oz) can crushed pineapple, well-drained
2 small or 1 (10-inch) unbaked pie shell(s)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Beat egg yolks with sugar, milk, and butter until light and fluffy. Stir in pineapple.

Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into egg mixture. Pour into 2 small or one 10-inch pie crust. (Depending on size of eggs, you may have filling left over to bake in greased custard cups.)

Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-45 minutes or until done.
