BUTTER ROLLS
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 cup butter or butter flavored shortening 1 1/2 cups water 1 egg melted butter (for brushing tops)
In large mixer bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt; mix well.
In small saucepan melt butter or shortening, then add water to it. Add to flour mixture, and mix well.
Add egg, blend at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
By hand gradually stir in remaining flour to make a stiff batter. Cover; let rise in warm place until double.
Stir down batter. Spoon into well greased muffin pans. Cover; let rise until double.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree F oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with butter and remove from pans.
