CLOVE-SPICED COOKIES
1 cup butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans FOR THE GLAZE: 1/4 cup butter or margarine Powdered sugar
Beat softened butter and sugars in medium bowl until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, cloves, and salt; mix in pecans. Spread mixture in ungreased jelly roll pan.
Bake at 275 degrees F, until golden, about 1 hour. Cool on wire rack.
TO MAKE THE GLAZE: Heat 1/4 cup butter in small saucepan over medium high heat until butter has turned dark brown; cool. Stir enough powdered sugar into butter to make thin glaze.
Drizzle glaze over cookies. Cut into squares.
Cookies can be stored in airtight container at room temperature 2 weeks, or frozen up to 2 months.
