jackie, i have a recipe for mamas candied dills. they are hot and sweet. but the recipe i have is not for canning. but is wonderful. there is a lady in boerne ,texas that makes some hot and sweet pickles called fickle pickles. they might be cheaper than what your paying. i also have been searching all over for a canning recipe for hot and sweet pickles. my recipe is as follows:\
1 gal. dill pickles 4 lbs of sugar 4 oz of bottled tabasco 1/2 bottle garlic juice
drain the dill pickles & cut into spears or chunks mix the sugar, tabasco, & garlic juice pack a layer of pickles back into the gallon jar/pack a layer of the sugar mix over the pickles continue altenate layering until all is used. put the lid back on the jarr& and let sit on counter for 12-14 days. turn jar upside down daily. keeps in refrig.
