Yum, these sound rich.. Fattigmann 5 egg yolks 3 tablespoons confectioners sugar 1/4 cup heavy cream, whipped 1 tablespoon brandy 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind 2 to 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour Fat or lard for deep frying Confectioners sugar Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored. Stir in confectioners sugar. Stir in whipped cream, brandy, cardamom, and lemon peel. Sir in flour until dough becomes stiff enough to knead. Chill overnight. Roll out on a lightly floured board to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into shapes with pastry cutter. Fry in deep hot fat or lard (370 degrees on a frying thermometer) for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden-brown on both side. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cakes.
