Here is a recipe I got from a magazine when my kids were small and I think I have made a couple of these every Easter since. one for us and one or two to give away.
Easter Nest Coffeecake
Soften 1 package active dry yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Scald 1/2 cup milk; stir in 1/4 cup shortening, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 tsp. salt; cool to lukewarm. Add 1 cup sifted all purpose flour; beat smooth. Add yeast and 1 slightly beaten egg; beat well. Add 2 cups sifted flour (or enough for soft dough). On floured surface, knead till smooth and elastic (8-10 minutes). Place in greased bowl. Turning once to grease surface. Cover; let double in warm place (about an hour). Punch down; devide in thirds. Cover; let rest 10 minuets. Shape a third of the dough in 6 "eggs"; place close together together in center of greased baking sheet. For nest shape remaining dough in two 26 inch ropes; twist together. Coil around eggs; seal ends. Cover; let double (about an hour). bake at 375% 15 - 20 minuets. Cool. Frost with confectioners' Icing; sprinkle eggs with candy decorettes, nest with green shredded coconut. These look very festive. Enjoy
