Have already made a gingerbread house from a Brides Magazine from 20 years ago - I made this particular gingerbread house 4 years ago - usually wrap it put it away in cool place and just open it up every year for deocoration - unfortunately this year I found some small flour bugs had boored some holes in the house here and there - my question is - what can I put into the icing recipe that will deter the bugs as this gingerbread house is truly just for decoration. The recipe I used was 1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar and 1 1/2 c. white sugar and 2 egg whites - anxiously awaiting a reply.
