Recipe: Homemade Mint Chocolate Chips (using semi-sweet chocolate chips)

Desserts - Assorted
Hi Lori,

Our local stores carry mint chocolate morsels during the holidays - maybe check with your grocery store manager to ask about ordering some for you. I couldn't find a way to order them on the Nestle web site, but I did find a recipe for:

Homemade Mint Chocolate Chips

- Place 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) Nestl Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels in a medium, heavy-duty plastic bag or container.

- Add 1/4 teaspoon pure peppermint extract; seal bag or cover container. Shake to coat.

- Store for 24 hours to allow sufficient time for morsels to absorb the mint extract.

Don't have 24 hours to spare? Here is what we recommend. The results are almost as good as waiting 24 hours.

- Place 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) Nestl Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels in a medium, heavy-duty plastic bag or container. Add 1/2 teaspoon pure peppermint extract; seal bag or cover container. Shake to coat.

- The mint-flavored morsels can be added directly to your recipe or melted according to morsel package directions.

NOTE: Peppermint Flavoring and Pure Peppermint extract can be used interchangeably.
