Pomander Balls
1 ( 6oz.) pkg. Semi-sweet chocolate morsels, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. Orange extract
2 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
1 cup chopped pecans
Sugar for coating
Combine melted chocolate, sugar, corn syrup, water and orange extract in a large bowl.
Add vanilla wafers and pecans, mixing well.
Shape mixture into 1-inch balls.
Roll each in sugar.
Store in an airtight container at least 2 days before eating.
Yield: 3 dz.
*For Rum flavored cookies, substitute 1-2 Tbsp. rum or 1 tsp. rum extract for the orange extract.
