CRANBERRY PUNCH BASE
1 cup sugar 1 cup water 12 inches stick cinnamon 6 whole cloves 1/2 of a 12 oz. can frozen cranberry juice, thawed 1/2 of a 6 oz. can frozen pineapple-orange juice concentrate, thawed 1/4 cup lemon juice
Combine sugar, water, cinnamon, and cloves in a small saucepan. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Chill
Strain the syrup, discarding spices. Combine syrup with cranberry and pineapple-orange juice concentrates and lemon juice. Use as a base for the drink below.
Makes 2-1/2 cups.
NONALCOHOLIC CRANBERRY PUNCH Combine the base, one 1-liter bottle lemon-lime carbonated beverage, one 1-liter bottle club soda or carbonated water in a punch bowl.
