I saw this recipe on of all things, Weatherbug! But it sounds delicious and I plan to try it for valentines day. It sounds like what you may have been looking for.
Chocolate-Covered Peanut Butter Crispie Hearts By Stephanie Blozy, WeatherBug Chief Chirp
My Mom always made us tasty treats for our after-school snacks. One of my favorites was Rice Krispie Treats. When I moved into a place of my own after college, I experimented with the basic recipe and added my two favorite ingredients - chocolate and peanut butter. The result was delicious…and addicting! Use heart-shaped cookie cutters to make these treats extra-special Valentines for your family and friends!
Hearts 3 Tablespoons butter 1 (10-oz) pkg (or 40 regular-sized) marshmallows 1 cup creamy peanut butter 6 cups crisp rice cereal (use cocoa-flavored cereal for an extra chocolaty treat!) Chocolate Top Coat 1 (12 oz) pkg (2 cups) chocolate chips 2 Tablespoons butter/margarine
In a large saucepan, melt butter.
Add marshmallows and stir over low heat until melted.
Stir in peanut butter. Remove pan from heat and add rice cereal one cup at a time until well coated.
Pour mixture into 9x13 rectangular pan, a 9-inch round pan or a heart-shaped pan (tip: to keep the marshmallow-cereal mixture from sticking to your spatula or hands, coat them with non-stick cooking spray). Cool.
If using a 9x13 rectangular pan, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart-shaped treats. If using the 9-inch round pan, cut out the biggest heart-shape you can (you might want to cut out a paper heart first to use as a guide).
Melt chocolate chips and butter over low heat. Spread melted chocolate on top of hearts and let cool.
If desired, you can decorate with tops of each heart with candies or write “love notes” with red icing/gel pens.
