PINEAPPLE BRAISED TURKEY DRUMSTICKS

1 package (about 2 1/2 pounds) frozen turkey drumsticks, thawed
2 tablespoons shortening Salt and pepper
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

In large skillet, brown drumsticks slowly in shortening. Drain off fat. Season with salt and pepper and pour on 1 cup pineapple juice.

Cover tightly; simmer 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender, turning occasionally. Remove drumsticks and keep warm.

TO MAKE THE GRAVY:
In tightly covered jar, shake 1/2 cup pineapple juice and flour; stir slowly into hot liquid. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.

Serve gravy with drumsticks.

Makes 4 servings
