I have made rouladen (german meat rolls) many different ways. Use flank steak thinly sliced the long way. Spread mustard on one side of the meat. I cut several types of vegetables - try carrot - celery - onion - dilled pickle - pickled asparagus - peppers...be adventurous! I cut the veg in small long pieces - about as long as your index finger and as thin as a pencil. Place two or three or four of your selected veggies at one end of the meat and roll-up securing with a toothpick. Heat some oil in and brown rolls on all sides. Place in a 9 by 13 baking dish and pour some tasty gravey over top. Bake at 375 for 45 - 60 minutes until all is heated through and bubbley. Serve with more steamed veggies and steamed rice. ENJOY
