Romanian Coffee Cake
1 1/2 cups sour cream 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 3 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 1/2 tsp salt
Topping: 1 cup sugar 4 tsp cinnamon 1 cup chopped nuts
Combine sour cream and baking soda. Let stand for exactly 2 hours.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Fold in sour cream. Add dry ingredients. Mix well together. Alternate batter and topping (3 each) in a greased angel food pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour. Sprinkle powdered sugar over cooled cake. Serves 12.
